Live in Dinghui Courtyard, Huangzhou: (Foretell the Plan)
Huang Zhou Ding Hui Yuan Yu Ju Zuo: (Bu Suan Zi)
Que yue gua shu tong
Lou duan ren chu jing.
Shei jian you ren du wang lai
Piao miao gu hong ying.
Jing qi que hui tou
You hen wu ren xing.
Jian jin han zhi bu ken qi
Ji mo sha zhou leng.
Live in Dinghui Courtyard, Huangzhou: (Foretell the Plan)
Crescent moon suspended from a thin paulownia tree
Hourglass sand gone, it is past midnight and all the people are still and quiet.
All alone in solitude at this place
One Chinese goose and his shadow in the distance.
Startled, suddenly turn one’s head
Have this regret, without anyone aware of my true circumstances.
Looking around here for the best cold branches to perch for the winter
But cannot find a suitable place so I will stay by the deserted, sandy riverbank.
