Banquet Seats: Four Poems: No. 2

Early morning hours the wind noisily moves the bamboo against veranda windows
Inside the covers, hear the arising waves hit the boat.
Rollover upon pillows, body seeks the end of dreams
My good friends now lining up in frosty boots for the morning audience.

Notes:

Morning audience: Probably refers to a time when Fan was working inside the imperial palace. Most every early morning the emperor held an audience to hear from his advisors and petitioners.
