望 楚 州 新 城
已 近 山 阳 望 渐 宽
湖 光 百 里 见 千 村。
人 家 四 面 皆 临 水
柳 树 双 垂 便 是 门。
全 盛 问 来 元 孔 道
杂 耕 今 是 一 雄 藩。
金 汤 再 葺 真 长 策
此 外 犹 须 子 细 论。

Yi jin shan yang wang jian kuan
Hu guang bai li jian qian cun.
Ren jia si mian jie lin shui
Liu shu shuang chi bian shi men.
Quan sheng wen lai yuan kong dao
Za geng jin shi yi xiong fan.
Jin tang zai qi zhen chang ce
Ci wai you xu zi xi lun.

Beyond Shanyang, the river widens and spreads out
For many miles bright lake-top reflections and thousands of villages.
Around in all four directions they face the lake and river waters
A pair of willow trees for a gate, one for each side.
Asking about the times of prosperity, this gate was a busy and narrow passage
Today I see various cultivated plants and one strong fence.
Current city walls and moat still need to be reinforced, even with peaceful neighbors
Low-key, but serious plans needed to make for our security.
