山 下 孤 烟
山 下 孤 烟 远 村
天 边 独 树 高 原。
一 瓢 颜 回 陋 巷
五 柳 先 生 对 门。

Tian bian du shu gao yuan.
Yi piao yan hui lou xiang
Wu liu xian sheng dui men.

Far away village, solitary trail of smoke in the foothills
At the horizon a single, tall primordial tree.
Humble people of moral integrity use one gourd ladle to drink
Live on the small street as if Mr. Wuliu is across the way.
Notes:
One gourd ladle: a sign of simple poverty
Mr. Wuliu (Five Willows): Refers to the poet Tao Yuanming‘s nickname for himself, and his planted five willow trees outside of his rural and secluded house.
