After Getting Drunk, Accompany Shi Lang Traveling to Dongting: Three Poems: No. 1

Today is like the banquets of the Seven Recluses of the Bamboo Forest
Your house known for being able and virtuous.
Because of my youth, let me drink three cups to you, like Ruan Ji
After getting drunk, I emerge clear and crazy.

Notes:

Seven Recluses of the Bamboo Grove: Writers, intellectuals and musicians who lived during the third century AD when the Han Dynasty transitioned into the Three Kingdoms period. They gathered near the house of one member, Ji Kang, in Henan Province.  Known for their drinking and creating, as well as being adept at escaping the corruptions and intrigues of the royal court. Over the centuries this group has developed into an often-used metaphor and symbol for Daoist drinkers living in seclusion.

Ruan Ji:  A member of the Seven Recluses, known especially for being a Daoist master, and for his composing music on the guqin instrument.
