Look For Recluse Chen’s Old House

Xun Chen Yi Ren Gu Ju

Ren shi yi zhao jin
Huang wu san jing xiu.
Shi wen zhang pu wo
Yan zuo dai zong you.

Chi shui you han mo
Feng yun yi luo qiu.
Jin xiao quan he li
He chu mi cang zhou ?

Look For Recluse Chen’s Old House

The people and times, like early morning have ended
Wastelands overgrown with weeds, no one cares for the several footpaths.
Begin my stay at the mouth of the Zhang
By myself travel to below Mt. Dai.

Still pond water has ducks
Mountain clouds and autumn have already descended.
Today inside canyons with flowing springs
What place should I ask for, to find your hidden boat ?

Notes:

Zhang River: Tributary to the Wei River in Hebei Province.

Mt. Dai (Mt. Tai):  Highest point in Shandong Province. It is the eastern mountain of the Sacred Mountains of China. Associated with sunrise, birth and renewal, it has been a place of worship for over 3,000 years.
