Four-Panelled Screen: Four-Line Poem

This ping feng has pretty ladies brightly painted by artist Zhou Fang
Many years old, the red and green colors are half-way faded and gone.
Leaning through a jade-like window, another lady with a luanfa hair style
Jealous after dusting and cleaning, the painting emerges more enchanting and beautiful.

Notes:

Ping Feng: Sometimes a half wall, sometimes and four paneled screen used as a work of art to separate large room spaces.

Zhou Fang: Famous Tang Dynasty painter of pretty ladies on a ping feng.

Luanfa hair style: Luan is a legendary bird like the phoenix, which represents the female spirit. This hairdo was most likely a central bun, spiraling upward and held in place by gold hairpins.
