小 麦 青 青 大 麦 黄
原 头 日 出 天 色 凉。
姑 妇 相 呼 有 忙 事
舍 后 煮 茧 门 前 香。
缲 车 嘈 嘈 似 风 雨
茧 厚 丝 长 无 断 (lu)。
今 年 那 暇 织 绢 著
明 日 西 门 卖 丝 去。

Yuan dou ri chu tian se liang.
Gu fu xiang hu you mang shi
She hou zhu jian men qian xiang.
Qiao che cao cao si feng yu
Jian hou si chang wu duan lu.
Jian nian na xia zhi juan zhu
Ming ri xi men mai si qu.

Small green wheat sprouts and some tall yellow ones
Cold land and sky warming up as the sun emerges.
For now the female relatives shouting at each other to hurry
Behind front doorways the fragrances of cocoons boiling.
Hem-skirted carriage very noisy like the sounds of wind and rain
Cocoons come out long and thick without their threads falling apart.
This year no free time to weave silk for themselves
Bright sunlight in the west, have to sell some of their silk to buy food.
