峭 壁 呀 呀 虎 擘 口
恶 摊 汹 汹 雷 出 喉。
溯 流 更 着 打 头 风

风 伯 劝 尔 一 杯 酒
何 须 恶 剧 惊 诗 叟？
端 能 为 我 霁 威 否？

Steep cliffs, very surprised look like a tiger’s mouth
Dislike the sounds of rushing water as it thunders and growls around the shoals.
Going against the river flows, now add in strong headwinds
Like moving an iron boat towards the Heavenly River.
Wind god rough, talk to you with a cup of wine
Why do you have so much negative drama to startle this old man’s poems?
Can you cause me to counter and negate this mighty storm?
Riverside willow trees and reeds shake their heads with disapproval.
Notes:
Heavenly River: Known in the West as the Milky Way. So like traveling along the Milky Way, through the star clouds, then on to the bright stars of Vega and Altair.
