临 城 道 中 作
逐 客 何 人 著 眼 看
太 行 千 里 送 征 鞍。
未 应 愚 谷 能 留 柳
可 独 衡 山 解 识 韩。
Lin Cheng Dao Zhong Zuo
Zhu ke he ren zhu yan kan
Tai xing qian li song zheng an.
Wei ying yu gu neng liu liu
Ke du heng shan jie shi han.
Along the Highway to Lin City
Sent away to a place where a visitor who writes poetry is ignored
Only at the Tai Hang mountains did I get a send off for my three hundred mile horse journey.
Liu Zhongwen wrote on his valley entrance, “Fools Live Here”, and stayed here long enough to grow willow trees
I wish to come quickly out of exile like Hanyu viewing Mt. Heng.

Tai Hang mountains: Mountain range in the provinces of Shanxi, Henan, and Hebei.
Hanyu: (768-824 AD) Poet and politician, his work can also be found on this website. Noted for his Neo-Confucian philosophy.
Mt. Heng: Located in Shanxi Province, and the northern most of the Five Great Mountains of China.
