Hard Times

Spring sunset, third lunar month at the long skinny section of the Wu Gorge
Bright and luminous clouds, walk along the river with sunny scenery.
Thunder sounds, suddenly rainfall upon thousands of mountain peaks
Fragrant flowered air a mixture of a hundred aromas.

Yellow orioles pass over the water doing rolls and returns
Swallow chicks cherish their moist mud nests.
A leaning cliffside pavilion with rolled-up curtains and paintings
Into the emptiness, a daydream of the deep and clear Xiang River.

Notes:

Wu Gorge: Wu Gorge:  The second of the Three Gorges along the Changjiang (Yanzi River).

Xiang River:  Largest rive in Hunan Province, and a large tributary to the Changjiang (Yangzi River). Major part of the Lake Dongting drainage system.
