From Xuanzhou, Send Off Judge Pei Tan to Shuzhou, While Du Mu Returns to the Capital As a Government Official
Warm days, mud and half-melted snow
Travelers proud, their horses neigh for the fragrant grasses.
Cloud-hidden temple paths on Mt. Jiuhua
Yi River village, young willow trees touch the bridges.
You expect to fly high like the cranes
My heart-mind wavers like a hanging pennant.
We arrive here together, but depart separately
Next spring’s visit to my hometown will be lonely and solitary.
